Program Information

Community Betterment Grant Program

The Polk County Community Betterment Grant Program was designed to provide financial support to non-profit organizations that provide cultural, recreational, educational, and human needs services to our citizens. Polk County has a rich history of partnering with public and private entities to provide effective programs and services to our community. The Board of Supervisors applauds your efforts to improve the quality of life for our citizens.

Community Development Grant Program

The Polk County Community Development Grant Program supports a limited number of large-scale projects within Polk County, Iowa. Community Development Grants provide funding in the range of $10,000 to $200,000. Due to the large number of requests, Polk County is unable to act favorably on all applications received. Each application is evaluated on overall community impact, compliance with Polk County guidelines, and availability of funds. Applications are accepted twice per year, during the months of January and July, with deadlines for submission being January 31 and July 31. All applications must be submitted via the Polk County Online Application and Reporting System. No exceptions will be made. Any application received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Community Sponsorship Grant Program

The Polk County Board of Supervisors sponsor community events, such as galas, dinners, walks, etc. to support important issues in our community. Requests for up to $10,000 will be accepted. Please call Sarah Boese at 286-3895 with questions.
